China Steps Forward

China Steps Forward

One of the hot events of the summer in the industry may very well be the 2007 China Chocolate Summit held in Guangzhou on August 22. The organizer is Candy China, a confectionary and chocolate company that aims to bring together manufacturers and specialists from all over the globe that would analyze China’s market potential for adapting to the trends in the chocolate industry and the tools and strategies that need to be implemented.

The country’s growing population comes up to 1.4 billion out of which 40% dwell in the city, a very large pool of consumers. The constantly developing economy and the change in mentality make for a great trading market. As people regard chocolate less and less as a luxury, it can become a big part of their life as a snack and as a pleasurable endeavor.

Key note speakers include Mr. Bill McCarrick from the UK Academy of Chocolate, Mr. Andre Stengel from the French Chocolatiers Association, Ms. Agnes Marchadier from Salon du Chocolat in Paris, Mr. Ng By from the Malaysian Cocoa Association and Miss Lim Boon Ngee from Barry Callebaut.

Tickets are $350 per person. For more information, please contact Mr. Jackson Lu by phone at +86-20-38339551 or by email jackson@candychina.com.cn
